Job Description Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the financial department, being responsible for the comprehensive management of the company’s accounting and finance. His experience contributes to accurate record-keeping, financial reporting and accounting compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and execute the general accounts, including the management of records, bank reconciliations and monthly accounting closure.
  • Record and analyze financial transactions, including investments, disbursements and fiduciary expenses, using advanced accounting systems.
  • Closely monitor investments in marketable securities, venture capital funds and trust fund openings.
  • Respond effectively to beneficiary queries related to trusts and provide financial guidance.
  • Calculate and manage taxes, ensuring compliance with payments, reports and other tax requirements.
  • Maintain and review records with government agencies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Inform management about the financial health of the business through detailed analysis and clear presentations.
  • Provide advice to clients on compensation, health care benefits, accounting systems, data processing and long-term tax planning.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs and revenues to project future income and expenses, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting rules and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with regulations and best practices.
  • Supervise the accounting team, providing guidance and ensuring ongoing training.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of efficient tax strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
  • Evaluate and propose improvements in accounting systems and processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Keep updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations, applying adjustments as necessary.
  • Participate in budgeting and financial projections.
  • Collaborate with the preparation of reports for presentations to the board and shareholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience in accounting and knowledge of accounting and financial functions.
  • Experience in accounting software.
  • Advanced level of Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA certification).
  • Bilingual.
