Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will provide comprehensive support to our attorneys throughout the litigation process. Your expertise in legal research, document management, and case preparation will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our litigation department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial processes.
- Conduct legal research and analyze relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Organize and manage case files, including indexing, maintaining databases, and document retrieval.
- Review and summarize depositions, transcripts, and other case-related materials.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Assist in the preparation of witnesses, including gathering evidence and preparing exhibits.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case management.
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, and court schedules to ensure timely filings and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation for trials, including the preparation of trial binders and exhibits.
- Attend trials and provide support to attorneys during courtroom proceedings.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and trial preparation.
- Monitor and track case-related expenses, invoices, and billing records.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, rules, and regulations related to litigation practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited program.
- Proven experience as a litigation paralegal or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and practices.
- Proficiency in legal research methods and the use of relevant databases and resources.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
- Proficiency in using legal software and technology for document management and trial support.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
