Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the overall closing process
Establish escrow account by depositing funds; maintaining records
Interpret earnest money, escrow and purchase agreements as they relate to closing
and prepare all documents required for transactions (ex. W-9, 1099, wire
Provide status of the transaction throughout the closing process to the appropriate
Review contract, title commitment, and lender instructions in order to prepare
settlement statements and the necessary real estate documents for closing
Prepare transaction documents by completing and assembling forms and
statements, collecting, and reviewing existing documents
Complete calculations by prorating taxes and interest
Fully participate in closings by explaining provisions and procedures, answering
questions, checking documents for completeness and accuracy, and obtaining
Complete closings by recording and filing documents, preparing and distributing
final closing statements and title, and balancing and disbursing funds
Balance and disburse funds according to lender's instructions and company
disbursement guidelines
Resolve all post-closing reconciliation issues including company reports and
according to company time frames
Maintain professional relationship with customers, and be a team player and
mentor to closing assistant/closing team
Identify areas for improvement
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Escrow Officer
Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence to,
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading
professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in
professional organizations
Enhance organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new
and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job
Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
2 years experience as an Escrow Officer in Texas
Depth of knowledge and experience with handling a residential real estate
transaction from the receipt of the contract through funding and disbursement.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build collaborative
relationships with co-workers and the parties to the transaction

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information
Ability to work with multiple diverse roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents
and attorneys
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications
Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
Strong energy and drive, self-starting, strong work ethic and work habits,
accountable for one's own actions
